  • Who is it for?

This seven week course is designed for parents and carers of children aged between 3 and 11 with a disability or special needs, particularly those who have learning disability or behavioural issues.

  • Who designed the course?

The charity Care for the Family designed the course and has developed an excellent reputation over the twenty five years they have been founded.

  • Who is running it?

Local volunteers who have been trained by Care for the Family will guide you through the course.

  • What Does It Cover?

Parents of children with special needs often feel isolated and frustrated that standard ‘parenting advice’ sometimes doesn’t work!

Recognising the reality of parenting a child with special needs, the sessions help parents explore how they can talk to their child about their differences and how to recognise and cope with feelings and experiences.
