Guest Speaker: Revd Di Rowlandson
With special session to be led by Revd Claire Gerard
13th – 15th September 2019 Join us for a special weekend focusing on Jesus and his words from Mark 6: 31 “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” There is always more to be done… As busy women whatever our age and stage, we may struggle to find time to stop and rest with Jesus. This weekend will enable us to enjoy being with Jesus – discovering more about what it means to delight and rest in him.
We will enjoy worship and praise drawing us closer to Jesus, biblical teaching that extends our understanding and times of prayer to deepen our relationship with Him. We pray this will be a time for rest, renewal and refreshment with Jesus. There will be opportunities to gather together, catch up with friends or make new ones, share stories, laugh together and encourage one another amidst the beautiful surroundings of De Vere Latimer but also the opportunity for quiet and solitude for those who need that. Our key note speaker is the Revd Di Rowlandson whom many will know well from her time with us at St James.
Her journey was one from clergy spouse, to clergy widow, to clergywoman. Nothing could have surprised this fulfilled mother and physiotherapist more, than sensing God’s call to ordained ministry. The St James church family were such an important part of her life for thirteen years from 2005. It was among us that God brought healing and a new direction. In her own words: “I learnt so much about His grace and kindness through you. I am so looking forward to being together again on the women’s weekend away. It will be great to catch up and share some of the things God has been teaching me on my new adventure with him in Norwich. I do hope you can join us.” We are also delighted that the soon to be “Revd” Claire Gerard will be leading a special session on the Saturday evening.
De Vere Latimer is set in 30 acres of the stunning Chiltern Hills overlooking the Chess Valley. The venue combines contemporary and Victorian architecture which makes an inspiring venue for the Weekend. There is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and leisure centre.
